Archers of Limerick

Archers of Limerick is a community archery club based at Cappamore Community Centre in East Limerick. We welcome people who want to try archery for the first time, develop their skills, join a local archery club or progress towards competition. The club provides beginner archery courses, introductory and Come and Try sessions, regular club training, coaching and opportunities to experience different forms of archery. Equipment is available for beginners, so you do not need to own a bow or have any previous archery experience to get started.

Inclusion and para-archery are central to Archers of Limerick. We are working to develop Limerick and the wider Mid-West as a strong base for accessible and inclusive archery, with opportunities for wheelchair users, people with physical disabilities, visually impaired archers, neurodivergent archers and anyone who may need an adapted approach to taking part in sport. Archery is particularly adaptable because people can shoot standing or seated and equipment, coaching, draw weight and shooting methods can be adjusted to suit the individual. We aim to make those adaptations part of normal club practice rather than a separate activity. This is reflected in the club's commitment to para-archery, adaptive equipment and person-centred coaching.We welcome children, teenagers, adults, families and older adults. The club also works with schools, community organisations, disability services, youth groups and other organisations interested in offering an inclusive archery experience.

Archers can take part recreationally or work towards competition. Our aim is to provide a pathway from someone's first arrow through beginner training, regular club archery and, where they wish, competition at club, county, national or international level. That progression is specifically included among the club's aims. Archers of Limerick is affiliated with Archery Ireland and operates within the rules and standards of the national governing body and World Archery.
