The Askeaton-Ballysteen-Kilcornan GAA club is an amalgamation primarily of the historic Askeaton GAA (founded 1891, three-time Limerick Senior Football Champions in the 1960s) and Ballysteen GAA (reformed 1992), with the inclusion of Kilcornan.
The joint entity fields adult teams in Junior and Intermediate grades, but is particularly strong at the underage level, often competing as ABK Desmonds and achieving recent success in county championships in both hurling and football.
The club maintains the strong Gaelic games traditions of its West Limerick parishes.
