Britton Outdoors is a Limerick based company which runs mountain skills courses, guided hikes, trekking trips to the Sierra Nevada’s (Spain) and mountain biking on the Ballyhoura Mountain bike trails. Mark has been working in the Outdoor Adventure industry since 2005 and has a degree in Outdoor Professional Practice and a Diploma in Outdoor Adventure Management. Mark is a qualified Mountain Leader and Mountaineering Ireland tutor and has numerous instructor qualifications in Mountain Biking, Sailing & Kayaking to name a few.
Britton Outdoors is focused on teaching aspiring hill walkers to become self-sufficient in the Irish mountains and is keen to encourage all participants to explore the beautiful Irish hills. Mark runs two levels of certified Mountain Skills training courses as well as customised training for group bookings. The first certified course is a two-day introduction to basic navigation skills. It is aimed at beginners who have little or no map reading skills. The second course covers some of the skills in more detail with the addition of some night navigation.
Britton Outdoors also runs guided hikes for families and small corporate or club groups. These hikes are tailored to suit the group and can be anything from a scenic three hour walk to a full day hike through the mountains with a possible summit of Ireland’s thirteenth Munro, Galty Mor, which stands at 918 metres high.
Britton Outdoors has added some new activities recently to include mountain biking on the renowned Ballyhoura mountain bike trails and week long trekking trips to the Sierra Nevada’s in Spain.
