The Mayor of Limerick City and County Cllr Francis Foley has today offered his congratulations to Monaleen’s Intermediate hurlers following their All-Ireland win on Saturday at Croke Park.

Locations throughout Limerick, Clare and Tipperary will be transformed into 1940’s Germany this month, for the filming of a major feature film set during World War II.

A number of organisations working in communities across Limerick City have received a significant boost following the news that will benefit from €3.7 million in funding from the Department of Local Housing, Local Government and Heritage, through the Economic and Social Intervention Fund (ESIF).

A new Bike Hub providing refurbished bikes has opened at Singland Cross, St Patrick’s Road, Limerick. (Eircode V94 A727). This Project is part funded by Limerick City and County Council’s Active Travel unit.

Limerick City and County Council can today (Wednesday 4 January 2023) confirm that due to necessary hedge cutting works along the Canal Bank Walkway, sections of the walkway between the Pa Healy Rd Bridge to the University of Limerick Boathouse will be closed between Monday January 9 2023 and Friday January 20 2023.  

Due to popular demand, some of Limerick’s festive family favourites are to remain into 2023.

Limerick City and County Council has today (Wednesday December 21) published its Gender Pay Gap Report for 2022. The gender pay gap is the difference in the average hourly wage of men and women across a workforce. Employers with more than 250 employees in Ireland are now required to publish their gender pay gap data. 

The Mayor of Limerick City and County Cllr Francis Foley today helped to distribute 300 Christmas hampers to Limerick families.

Limerick City and County Council is encouraging all households to dispose of their real Christmas Trees in an environmentally friendly way. The council-run recycling centres in Mungret, Kilmallock, Newcastle West and Gortadroma will accept Christmas Trees for the month of January.
