Theme: “Legends of Limerick"
Limerick City and County Council is delighted to announce that the theme for Limerick St. Patrick’s Festival 2026 will be “Legends of Limerick”, celebrating the remarkable people, stories and moments that have shaped the county’s unique identity.
This year’s festival will run from the 13th to the 17th of March with the Legends of Limerick theme honouring legends past and present - from ancient myths, medieval figures and folklore, to sporting heroes, literary giants, cultural trailblazers and contemporary icons who continue to inspire.

Limerick City and County Council is preparing to deliver the Limerick City St. Patrick’s Day Parade which will, once again, be the centrepiece of the Limerick St. Patrick’s Festival 2026.
Last year’s parade drew 1,500 participants, while 70,000 spectators packed the city centre, transforming Limerick into a sea of music, colour and joyous celebration.

Entries must be received on or before 20th February 2026 (or when the maximum capacity of participants is reached).
- Parade entries may be limited.
- Community groups and those participating using the parade theme for their entry will be prioritised.
- You will receive confirmation as to whether your application has been successful.
