Limerick Rally committee were delighted to welcome special guests, Mayor of Limerick City and County Cllr. Liam Galvin, representatives from sponsors GVM Group, Pat Dowling Deputy Chief Executive of Limerick City and County Council, Macra na Feirme National President Sean Finan, Macra staff and Limerick Macra members to the Rally launch. Also in attendance were local farmers who will be showcasing their agricultural enterprises to Rally delegates from all over Ireland.
Chairman Aidan Liston from main sponsors GVM spoke of the group celebrating 60 years in business and the positive influence Macra na Feirme, which was established 10 years previously, had on GVM Groups founding members.
The 2016 Macra na Feirme Annual Conference hosted by Limerick Macra will be held in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ennis Road, Limerick from Friday 28th October to Monday 31st October 2016 for what promises to be an action-packed weekend.
Up to 3,000 members are expected to visit Limerick for the Macra Annual Conference for activities including a fancy dress party, local farm tours, an agricultural conference, a banquet, as well as several national competition finals.
Limerick Macra last hosted the Rally in 2000 in what was then the Limerick Inn Hotel and are proud to have the biggest event of the Macra calendar return to Limerick in 2016. Macra na Feirme National President Sean Finan highlighted the strong tradition of Macra na Feirme within Limerick which has had three past presidents in the history of Macra.
Limerick Rally committee together with the Rally mascot Rocky look forward to welcoming Macra members to the Treaty County this October Bank Holiday weekend.
