A national day of free creativity for children and young people, Cruinniú na nÓg will take place on Saturday 6th June 2026.
Cruinniú na nÓg is a national initiative that celebrates and encourages participation in culture and creativity through performance, theatre, art and music workshops, readings, screenings, special events and much more.
It is about giving children and young people the opportunity to express themselves through a specially curated programme of cultural and creative activities where they can share their ideas, learn new skills and have fun!
All events are free of charge, child-centred and activity based. It’s a day for lots of doing, making and creating!
What's On
- Green Screen Animation Workshop | Limerick Citizen Innovation Lab | 10.30am
This workshop teaches 8 - 12 year olds how to bring some movie magic.
- Wonder Walls | The Gaff | 11am
Young people aged 12–18 can take part in a bold, hands-on street art experience as part of a nationwide celebration of creativity. Wonder Walls will also take place on Friday 8th May and Friday 22nd May at 5.30pm.
- Music for Everyone with the Irish Chamber Orchestra | The Hunt Museum | 11am
Young people will meet the musicians and have access to explore and try a variety of classical stringed instruments.
- Spring Flowers: A Participative and Creative Art Experience for People of All Ages | Askeaton Community Centre | 12pm
Join Dóchas Midwest Autism Support, artists Anne and Denis, and Askeaton Contemporary Arts to view art work, enjoy a light and sound installation, and take part in creative workshops.
- Movie Soundtracks: A Performance by the ICO | The Hunt Museum | 12pm & 3pm
Join the Irish Chamber Orchestra for a free performance of movie soundtracks.
- Cruinniú na nÓg in the City | Limerick Citizen Innovation Lab | 1pm
Big Blocks, Lego Stop Motion, Badge Making, VR Headsets and the Limerick FabLab.
