Limerick Rolls: City Centre Street Party & Group Cycle

Saturday 16th May @ 12pm
  • Bike Week Main Event

As part of Bike Week Limerick, Limerick City and County Council in cooperation with Limerick Sports Partnership will host a city‑centre cycling celebration, combining a street party with a group cycle designed for families and cyclists of all ages and abilities.

The event will take place on Davis Street, which will serve as the central hub for the day, with activities for children and adults. Live music on stage, children's activities, street food, community stalls, and roaming entertainment create a festival atmosphere.

To bring people to the hub three guided group cycles will be organised to arrive at Davis Street in readiness for the Bang Bike Ride starting at 2pm. The 3 starting locations are:

  • City west - Mungret Park at midday,
  • City east - Castletroy Park at midday,
  • City north - Mayorstone Quarry Park at 12:30pm.

These rides will be led by experienced bike leaders and are intended to make it easier and more comfortable for families and less confident cyclists to join the event.

At 2pm from Davis Street a 5km city centre rolling ride will be led by the Bang Bike, our high energy cycling DJ, who will provide the entertainment for the ride at a relaxed and inclusive pace for all. The cycle will be sociable, inclusive and suitable for all ages and abilities. This ride will loop back to the hub in Davis Street.

As the party is wrapping up, at 5pm participants will also have the option to cycle back as part of a guided group, returning along the same routes and accompanied by experienced bike leaders.
