Learning Later in Life: Exploring Pathways, Possibilities and Support

Saturday 25th April @ 10am

Have you ever thought about going back to education but wondered “is it too late?”

This mini open day is designed to show that learning later in life isn’t just possible, it can be incredibly rewarding.

Join us for a morning of short talks, where guest speakers share their own education journeys that began later in life, offering honest reflections on confidence, change, and the opportunities that opened up along the way. You’ll hear real stories, have the opportunity to ask questions, and explore what lifelong learning can look like at any stage of life.

The event also includes an open drop-in session with University of Limerick Graduate & Professional Studies and Limerick Chamber Skillnet who will be available to chat about flexible study options, pathways back into education, funding supports available, and how prior experience can count.

Tea and coffee will be provided, and no preparation or prior knowledge is needed. Just curiosity. Whether you’re actively considering study or simply exploring possibilities, this event offers a relaxed and supportive space to discover what might be next.

Speakers include:

  • Michael MacCurtain, Skillnet Network Manager, Limerick Chamber

  • Helen Brown, Business Development Manager, Professional Education, University of Limerick

  • Michael Hennessy, Professional Education Manager, UL

Targeted towards adults, including adults 50+ and anyone considering returning to education, exploring new learning opportunities, or seeking personal and professional development later in life.
