Lúnasa

Sunday 3rd May @ 7.30pm
  • Lunasa

Lúnasa bring their world-renowned, high-energy trad sound to Coláiste Íde agus Iosef for a standout Fleadh by the Feale 2026 concert.

Formed in 1997, Lúnasa quickly became known as an “Irish music dream team,” bringing a groundbreaking sound, intricate arrangements and unparalleled energy to stages across the world. Their music has been praised internationally, with critics calling them “the hottest Irish acoustic band on the planet,” “the new gods of Irish music,” and “a thrilling rhythmic force.”

With over a quarter of a million album sales and more than 2,500 performances in 36 countries, Lúnasa have firmly established themselves at the forefront of contemporary traditional music. Their collaborations with Natalie Merchant, Mary-Chapin Carpenter and Tim O’Brien, along with performances at iconic venues including Carnegie Hall, The Hollywood Bowl, Bercy Arena Paris and Glastonbury Festival, have broadened their reach and cemented their status as giants of the genre.

The band’s current lineup features some of the most respected musicians in Irish music:

  • Trevor Hutchinson (The Waterboys),
  • Cillian Vallely (Riverdance, Bruce Springsteen collaborator),
  • Kevin Crawford (Moving Cloud),
  • Sean Smyth (Coolfin),
  • Colin Farrell (Project West, Grada),
  • Ed Boyd (Flook, Kate Rusby, Cara Dillon).

Lúnasa continue to evolve creatively, most recently with their album “Cas,” praised as “brilliant with a capital B” and a bold step into new musical territory.

Join us for a powerful evening of world-class traditional music right in the heart of Abbeyfeale.
