Limerick Chamber, in partnership with Limerick City and County Council, have unveiled a new gift card to encourage shop local in association with local businesses.
The new Limerick Gift Card was launched before Christmas with the aim of driving footfall and spend in the city and surrounding towns, including Newcastle West, Adare, Abbeyfeale, Kilmallock and Rathkeale.
The Limerick Gift Card is available as either a digital or physical gift card, with multiple benefits over paper gift vouchers, including security, friction-less redemptions and quick payment for merchants accepting the cards.
The new Limerick gift card will provide tangible investment into a number of sectors including retail, hospitality, leisure and services, benefiting both the day and night time economy. Limerick businesses are encouraged to take part in the programme, which offers a no commission basis.
In addition local businesses who avail of the Government’s Small Benefit Exemption, a Limerick Gift Card can be pre-loaded with up to €1500. An ideal tax free gift from businesses to their employees, ensuring the value stays in Limerick. To date local businesses that have supported the Limerick Gift Card with Corporate Orders include The Savoy Hotel, Texas Steak Out, Connolly Man, Arthur’s Quay Shopping Centre (TCE Management Ltd. -Tiernan Properties),Gleeson Sports, Dell and Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel.
