Corlann Limerick

  • Corlann

We are an inclusive progressing organization committed to the people we support and their right to lead full and valued lives as equal citizens. Inspired by the ethos of the Brothers of Charity we promote the values of dignity and respect for each person.

The following are the services provided:

Day Services

Each Day Service provides supports and opportunities for people we support to develop a wide range of skills and access therapies that will enable each person to live a good and valued life.  Underpinning service provision is the ethos of Corlann which includes supporting people to claim their rightful place as equal and valued citizens, promotion of relationships and community participation and valuing learning and expertise in the design of supports.

Each Day Services endeavours to support each individual in a manner that is flexible, responsive and person centred.  A wide range of choices and options are offered based on each person’s preferences as outlined in their Person Centred Plan.

Corlann Limerick Day Services are informed by the Health Service Executive (HSE) policy document “New Directions” which was published by the HSE in 2012. This policy sets out the approach to day services that envisages all the supports available in communities will be mobilised so that people with intellectual disabilities have the widest choice and options about how to live their lives and how to spend their time.

There are currently 13 day service locations provided by Corlann Limerick across Limerick city and county.

Residential Services

  • Community model

Corlann Limerick provides residential supports to adults with intellectual disability in over 26 locations across Limerick city and county.

All houses are regulated by HIQA.

The focus of our community residential services is to provide high quality homes in good locations that enable individuals to live a good and connected live in their Community.

The majority of individuals living in our houses in the Community model attend a day service run by Corlann Limerick.

Each individual living with Corlann Limerick is supported to have a person centred plan and staff teams work to support residents to achieve their goals as set out in this plan.

  • Integrated model

Integrated Services provide a model of support where the resident is supported by staff on a 24/7  basis.   In this regard residential and day supports are integrated.

Residents are supported to have active and meaningful lives and are guided by goals identified in their respective person centred plan.

Each house within Integrated Services are regulated by HIQA.

Respite Services

Currently Corlann Limerick has one residential house located in Castletroy in Limerick.

This provides the opportunity for people we support in Day Services who are living with their families to avail of a mini break with their friends.

Each person who accesses the respite service is supported to access the local amenities and get involved in recreational activities that they enjoy.

Children’s Services
