Gavin James will bring his celebrated live show to the iconic King John’s Castle, Limerick on Friday, June 5th, 2026 for a very special summer concert.

Few singer-songwriters are as adept at capturing the intimate details of everyday life - love, heartache, loss and joy - as Gavin James. From his early days busking and performing in pubs around Dublin, James honed a songwriting style rooted in emotional honesty and melodic strength, quickly earning attention at home and abroad.

Championing support from the likes of Ed Sheeran, alongside the release of his early recordings and his debut album Bitter Pill (2016), helped establish James as one of Ireland’s most successful modern singer-songwriters. Since then, his music has been streamed over three billion times worldwide, earning diamond and platinum certifications across multiple territories.

Renowned for a live show that is both uplifting and deeply personal, Gavin James has sold over 250,000 tickets globally, building a devoted international fanbase drawn to his powerful vocals and heartfelt performances.

In autumn 2023, James returned with the single “White Noise”, marking a new creative chapter. Featuring a deeper vocal register and an expanded sonic palette, the track serves as a precursor to a forthcoming album of original material, currently being recorded in a studio set high in the mountains outside his home city of Dublin.

Set against the historic backdrop of King John’s Castle, this Limerick date promises an unforgettable open-air performance from one of Ireland’s most beloved artists.

Speaking ahead of the announcement, Mick Dolan said:

“Gavin James has a rare ability to connect with an audience in a way that feels completely personal, no matter the size of the stage. His songs resonate deeply with people, and his live performances are always something special. Bringing him to King John’s Castle for a summer show in Limerick feels like the perfect setting, and we’re delighted to have him back.”

Tickets go on sale Friday, December 19th at 10am from www.dolans.ie.
