The YDP works with young people between the ages of 8 -17.

The Rathkeale Youth Diversion Project is a community based and supported youth development project which seeks to divert young people from becoming involved (or further involved) in anti-social or criminal behaviour.

The YDP facilitates personal development and promotes civic responsibility.

Young people access the YDP through a referral and assessment process. Referrals primarily come from Garda sources such as JLO or community Gardai in addition referrals are also received from local schools, TESS, Home School Liaison Officer, young people themselves (self-referrals), parental referrals and other youth services.

Rathkeale Evolve Early Intervention Programme

The Evolve Early Intervention programme works with young people between the ages of 8-11. The Evolve project works on engaging targeted young people in a process of learning and development that will enable them to examine their own behaviours and to make positive lifestyle choices that will protect them from involvement in criminal, harmful or socially unacceptable behaviours.

Engaging with young people who are known to the Gardaí and the community and are at risk of offending, on both a one-to-one and group level.
