Here's a collection of some of Limerick's most stunning street art as photographed by you!

Dodo Reddan

One of Limerick’s most colourful and memorable characters is immortalised in a giant street mural in the heart of her hometown. Legendary Limerick lady, Dodo Reddan (1922-1995), whose real name was Hanora Quirke, was renowned for her two passions in life, her great love of dogs and rugby. Located at Sráid an Ceoil, St. John’s Pavilion.

Strength in Fragility

Strength in Fragility by Emic was commissioned to bring hope and comfort to the people of Limerick as they continue to survive and support each other throughout the pandemic. The mural highlights how inspiring the people of Limerick have been in coming together to show support, friendship and strong sense of community spirit which is so inherent in Limerick.

Dolores O'Riordan

This RGB-style mural immortalises The Cranberries lead singer at the peak of her career, honours her contribution to music and celebrates her proud connection to Limerick. The work of artist Aches, it was commissioned by Draw Out and funded by Limerick City and County Council as part of Celebrating Women in Limerick’s History series to recognise and honour influential and powerful women in Limerick, past and present. Located on Castle Street, Limerick (right across from King John's Castle)

Constance Smith

Born in Limerick in 1928, Constance Smith became a world renowned Hollywood actress and feature film favourite. She fought to be recognised as a leading-role star and although her life was troubled, her tenacity is what defined her and garnered her a reputation for being strong willed and fierce and for always staying connected to her Limerick roots by refusing to change her name just to please the film industry. This mural by Subset is located at Treaty City Brewery, 24-25 Nicholas Street.

We Are All In This Together

Another reminder of how resilient and strong Limerick's community spirit is. As we struggle to deal with isolation and uncertainty throughout lockdown, this positive message by Jonathan Noonan reminds passers-by that they are not alone - there is hope, there is a kind and strong community and we can reach out for support from our neighbours, friends and local support services. Located at the Athlunkard Street/Island Road junction.

St.John's Brass & Reed Band Commemoration

St. John’s Brass and Reed Band has been an intrinsic part of the ceremonial history of Limerick for over 150 years. To recognise and celebrate the contribution and representation of Limerick City, this mural by Decoy and WithoutMatter commemorates the band's 150th anniversary, referencing an iconic image from 1958 of Jimmy McCormack (right, current President and member) and Kevin Greaney (left, former band member). Located on the Garryowen Road.

Sionna

Situated in a prime location between Medieval Limerick and the Georgian grid, this mural by Bold Detail cleverly depicts a ‘Georgian doorway’ between the city's two areas. Borrowing from Georgian architecture which sometimes features Greek or Roman gods and goddesses, this colourful mural located in Bridge Street celebrates Limerick's local legend Sionna, the Goddess of the Shannon.
