Aunty Lena’s & the Courthouse Adare

Our bar was established in 1806 by the Chawke family, Aunty Lena’s has famously served the needs of its patrons with great success keeping the bar as a focal part of the community, and serving both locals and visitors from all over the world.

In 2018 Charlie Chawke took the abandoned Adare Courthouse under his wing, annexing it to Aunty Lena’s and completely refurbished an historic building so linked to Adare since 1836, but forgotten for over 30 years.

The Adare Courthouse now has new life breathed into it and we would love for people to enjoy a visit to the bespoke restaurant, bar, and Courthouse museum, which can also be used as a themed function room.

Our highly skilled kitchen team serve delicious traditional Irish food all day, from 9am until 10pm Monday to Sunday.  We try to source as much of our produce as possible from local farmers and producers to ensure that our food offering is fresh and seasonal.

Our bar menu includes a wide-ranging selection of beers, wines, spirits, liquors and soft drinks, and the very finest Irish whiskeys to enjoy in comfortable surroundings with prompt and friendly service.

We have live traditional music sessions every Friday night and a live band every Saturday & Sunday night.

We have great facilities for meetings, events & functions along with our new museum located in the centre of Adare village.
