From Tuesday 30th June, as part of Phase 3 of the Government’s Roadmap, library members will be allowed to access Watch House Cross Community Library branch for limited times, from 10am - 1pm and 2pm - 4 pm, Tuesday to Friday. Library staff will manage the numbers of people entering the branch at any one time.

Borrowed items can also be returned during these times. There is no public access to study facilities, internet, Wi-Fi, newspapers and magazines, community rooms, exhibition spaces and public toilets during this phase. Further branch libraries will re-open at a later date.

Will the online library service continue?

The hugely popular and successful online service providing free access to eBooks, newspapers, magazines, local history, language learning, courses and online storytime will continue to be provided.

As the public cannot enter the building during this phase, our other facilities which include a PC room, an exhibition space, a craft room, a language room and a sensory room, will not be available until further notice. 

Autism and Visiting the Library 

A social story has been compiled to familiarise autistic individuals with the Limerick Library Service and what to expect when visiting a library branch. To download the social story to your phone of tablet click here.

Sensory Room

A Sensory Room is a specially designed room that can help individuals with sensory impairments, learning and development difficulties and those on the Autism spectrum. Sensory rooms combine a range of stimuli to aid, develop and engage the senses.

Watch House Cross Community Library Sensory Room has a range of visual, tactile, auditory and vestibular stimuli. The Sensory Room is available for use by parents, guardians and carers of children, teens and adults with Autism, sensory impairments, special needs and learning and development difficulties. It is also available for teachers and SNAs to use.

The Sensory Room can be booked for 30 minute sessions by contacting Watch House Cross Library at 061-557726.
