Limerick City and County Council is reminding people to ensure that their festive waste is segregated and recycled as much as possible.

Limerick towns and villages benefit from almost €4m of Active Travel investment

Sixteen towns and villages across Limerick have benefitted from almost €4m of investment in Active Travel measures in 2021. With funding from the National Transport Authority, Limerick City and County Council has delivered a range of improvements for pedestrians with many of the projects completed in recent weeks.

Massive transformation as Ardagh Station House restoration works are completed

Almost 155 years after it first opened, Limerick City and County Council has completed extensive restoration works on the historic Ardagh Station House.

The Station House was part of a larger site which had lain derelict for years before it was purchased by Limerick City and County Council in 2020 as part of the Council’s ambitious plans for the Limerick Greenway.

Creative Climate Action in Limerick - Decarbonising Together

Call for Limerick Communities to take part in creative project exploring decarbonisation.

Limerick City and County Council is looking for five communities in the Metropolitan area of Limerick to work on a special project looking at how we can reduce our carbon footprint. The chosen communities will collaborate with a creative partner in a project known as Decarbonising Together.

Mayor welcomes announcement that University of Limerick Kemmy Business School among world’s elite

The Mayor of the City and County of Limerick Cllr Daniel Butler has welcomed the announcement that the Kemmy Business School at the University of Limerick had joined the top one per cent of business schools in the world.

KBS has received accreditation by the prestigious EFMD Global quality system (EQUIS), which means the school becomes the third in Ireland to be triple accredited.

Patrickswell Tidy Towns accepts the #MissionPossible task and wins €1,000

Patrickswell Tidy Towns has taken top spot in the #MissionPossible Limerick Tidy Towns Video Competition.

The Mayor had set the challenge for Tidy Towns groups to create a video suitable for use on social media. The video had to be 90 seconds or less and showcase the town or village along with a minimum of five categories in the Tidy Towns competition.

Look for Local for the final two weeks before Christmas

Christmas shoppers are asked to support local businesses by looking for local this Christmas. When you buy local you are supporting the local businesses, their families and keeping money in the local economy as well as reducing your carbon footprint. You can do this by supporting local shops who supply a wide range of gifts as well as local companies producing crafts and foods which make unique presents.

Mayor congratulates record-winning Hurling All-Stars

The Mayor of the City and County of Limerick has congratulated the Limerick hurlers on their record haul of Hurling All-Stars. Mayor Daniel Butler was commenting after the announcement that 12 of this year’s PWC All-Stars hurling team are from Limerick, the reigning All-Ireland Champions.
