Limerick City and County Council have developed a Dog Park within Mungret Park. The pilot dog park will trial this type of initiative and to identify any potential issues. A review of the pilot will be carried out after six months to assess its success. The Council are inviting observations from the public in order to form any future facilities.

The opening hours of the dog park are in accordance with the opening hours of Mungret Park and users shall take note when entering the park.

The following rules are enforced when using the dog park:

  • Use park at own risk.
  • Owners are legally responsible while entering and exiting the park.
  • Dog waste must be cleaned up by their owners immediately.
  • Owners must be within the dog park and supervising their dog with leash readily available.
  • Dog handlers must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times.
  • Aggressive dogs must be removed immediately.
  • Gate to be closed at all times.

The following items are prohibited from the dog park:

  • Human & dog food/treats
  • Glass containers
  • Dogs in heat
  • Sick dogs
  • Aggressive dogs
  • Puppies
