The 2024 National All Ireland BBQ Competition at Riverfest Limerick will take place on Saturday 4th May.
This year’s competition is all about community, family and fun. We invite communities and groups to come together and make this year’s entry a dish from the heart. Each team will cook one meal for the competition, either chicken or beef or meat alternative, (all can be provided), for our judging panel.

Places will be filled on a first come basis.
What will be provided?
- BBQ
- Utensils
- Charcoal
- Food (1 piece of chicken & beef) and King Oyster Mushroom (meat alternative, if required) to be entered into the competition for judges to mark
- Tents and
- Tables
Entry Costs
This event is €100 to enter for all corporate entries and free for charity organisations. Each team consists of 2 to 8 people.
Entry Details
Each team will be provided with 1 piece of chicken & 1 piece of beef and King Oyster Mushroom (if required) to be cooked and entered into the competition, which will be judged by official BBQ judges (announced closer to the date).
We suggest bringing extra food along to cook, to give out as samples to the public attending the event and show off your cooking skills. Feel free to bring decorations for your area, fancy dress, bring entertainers, anything fun and creative you can bring to the day!

- Overall Winner
- Overall Runner up
- Best Chicken Dish Entry
- Best Beef Dish Entry
- Best Meat Alternative Entry
- Best Dressed Stand
- Most Entertaining
There will be a €1,000 cheque prize given to the overall winner of the National All Ireland BBQ Competition, which will be decided by the judges after all entries have been submitted.
