A comprehensive festivals guide to a host of events taking place in the Treaty City during 2013 was launched today with an exciting mix of events to suit every taste.
Starting with the renowned Kate O'Brien Weekend this month and running right up to the Christmas Racing Festival, the Limerick Festivals Guide provides everything you need to know about our top 25 festivals of 2013.
Highlights include:

The 2013 Limerick St Patrick’s Festival which is attracting huge interest from abroad, particularly the growing 43rd with preliminary details due to be announced this Friday.

The Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival features hundreds of events throughout the city and county in March followed by the creative participants of the Fresh Film Festival and the LIT Film Festival in April.

Early summer is busy with Riverfest, the Great Limerick Run and the Foynes Irish Coffee Festival while the inaugural Limerick Sings International Choral event will be a welcome new addition to the festivals calendar over the June Bank Holiday weekend.

The city is set for pop up restaurants and delicious delights during Love Gourmet Week in June with fireworks ringing in the 4th of July celebrations and thousands of tag rugby fans from all over Ireland set to descend on Old Crescent RFC for Pig ‘n’ Porter 2013.

July is also busy with the Make a Move festival celebrating Limerick’s hip-hop culture and the Irish Festival of Speed thundering through Adare in early August.

September sees the eclectic Limerick Pride parade wind its way down O’Connell Street while Westfest rocks Newcastle West and the hugely popular Elemental Arts and Culture Festival will add a splash of colour in the city centre.

Culture Night and the Limerick Jazz Festival will offer free musical performances across Limerick in September while October is a busy month with the international poetry festival, Cuisle and the Open House Architecture Festival throwing open the doors of many of the city’s unexplored buildings to the public.
- Limerick will be invaded with zombies during three days and nights across Halloween for the Outbreak Limerick Zombie Festival with the Rugby League World Cup, Limerick Christmasfest and the Christmas Racing Festival bringing us right up to 2014.
The guide was issued by the Limerick Communications Office (LCO).
