Centre of Learning

Centre of Learning

Limerick is an important centre of learning, with no fewer than 10 higher institutes, including Limerick Institute of Technology and the University of limerick.

The UL campus is home to a 50 metre Olympic standard swimming pool at the University Arena where international athletes train.

As a student you will find that Limerick is a vibrant, young city that bustles as the commercial capital of the region.

Almost half the city’s population is under 30 and you can study almost any discipline at the many public and private educational institutions in Limerick.

Notable Limerick sons and daughters include author Frank McCourt, broadcaster Terry Wogan, soprano Catherine Hayes, journalist Vincent Browne, actor Richard Harris, rugby star Paul O’Connell, Riverdance composer Bill Whelan and Rose Fitzgerald, mother of John F Kennedy.
