Unique Fundraiser gives Limerick Clubs the chance to train like Kerry or Donegal

Limerick GAA clubs have a chance to train like the Kerry and Donegal Senior Football teams, with a unique fundraising event hitting the Treaty County this weekend June 20th/21st.

Clubs are encouraged to get on board to support the BIKE1630 event which is being organised by the Belnaleck GAA Club in Fermanagh to raise funds for a new pitch for their juvenile section.

Teams who lend their backing to the fundraising venture will be entered into a draw for a fantastic training weekend for 30 members at the 5-star Lough Erne Resort in Fermanagh.

Along with the Kerry and Donegal teams, Lough Erne has also hosted the Ulster Rugby team, and World leaders such as Barack Obama and David Cameron for the G8 Summit.

This weekends cycle is unique, as it aims to visit all 1630 GAA Clubs across the island of Ireland over a 48-hour spell, with four riders per county.

A photograph will be taken at each club visited, providing a unique GAA 'family portrait’ - with clubs in Limerick joining the rest of the 1630 clubs, which will enable Belnaleck GAA to produce a once in a life time photographic publication of GAA clubs in Ireland.

Tickets are €100 per club. Limerick clubs, Cappagh, Bruff and Feohanagh & Castlemahon are among those who have already signed up to hosting the cycle this weekend.

More information on the event can be found at www.bike1630.com, Facebook.com/Bike1630 and Bike1630 on Twitter.
