Limerick Digital Leaders Network – DLN

The Limerick Digital Leaders Network, established in December 2016, consists of stakeholders and thought-leaders from leading organisations that committed on a voluntary basis to work together and support the development of Smart Limerick City Region. The network includes members from 27 public and private organisations, small and large commercial enterprises, academic institutions and research centres, community and voluntary organisations and local development companies.

As part of the Terms of Reference the members of the Limerick Digital Leaders Network – DLN commit to:

  1. Lead and participate in activities that help Limerick reach its Smart Limerick Vision 2030: defne, initiate, implement and review projeects according to the overall digital strategy roadmap in such a way as to enable technologies, business models etc. to be piloted with the view of scaling up; to maintain and provides updates for the Smart Limerick Projeects Catalogue;
  2. Participate in the Limerick Digital Strategy development: identify the current and future desired capabilities, defne the roadmap and any changes that would trigger the need to create, enhance or improve services and quality of life across Limerick City Region;
  3. Defne and review goals and indicators: these are critical in the execution of the Smart Limerick Roadmap in order to progress from good intentions to measurable outcomes;
  4. Collaborate in cross-organisation funding proposals and programmes for common initiatives: collaborative initiatives need to be supported by collaborative funding methods and management structures;
  5. Identify regional skills needs to enableß new work practices and technology adoption: the implementation of new technologies and digital engagement and collaboration require a constant up-skilling for staf, partners, citizens and communities;
  6. Project review: to ensure that the expected benefts and impacts are being realized in order to achieve the performance improvements it aimed for
  7. Participate in defnition of Policies and Standards: particularly in relation to systems integration, data governance, data protection, privacy and security;
  8. Participate in Smart Limerick promotion and marketing: dissemination of projeect outcomes, lessons learned, etc. through all media and social media channels will lead to the increased recognition of Limerick at national and international level as a great place to live, work and do business in.
  9. Participate in International Networks and projeects for Smart Cities: Limerick needs to be an active member of national and international smart-cities networks and best practice organisations;

The DLN will meet 4-5 times a year at an interval of 2-3 months. The DLN is an open network. Membership is enabled by introduction to the network through an existing member.
