Limerick City and County Council says water levels on the Lower River Shannon at Castleconnell have increased by half an inch during the past 24 hours. 

Limerick City and County Council says an increase in water levels of 120 mm was measured on the Lower River Shannon at Castleconnell on Friday and overnight.

Limerick City and County Council has received confirmation from the ESB of its decision to increase the spill rate at Parteen Weir by 30 cubic metres per second (cumecs) to 470 cumecs during today (Friday), the highest spill rate reached since November 2009.
