After a call for proposals and ideas, the Culture Team received over 350 project suggestions spanning sport, food, craft, arts, heritage and history, education, community arts, biodiversity and environment.

The proposals signal a positive start to the year of culture campaign with an overwhelming response from local cultural organisations. The proposals have given a clear picture of what groups on the ground are thinking from: plays on the river Shannon to a Tea Dance on O'Connell Street, projects developing Georgian Limerick, Cultural Mile Trail in the city to a civic pavilion.

The team will be staging a 'Cultural Networking Event' on the 17th-19th July for those groups who have made proposals as part of the next step in the process.
