Retail

  • Shopping in Limerick

Like so much about Limerick, its retail offering comes with an edge on so many others, not just because of its special offering but also its unique personality.

Whether it’s indulgent retail therapy offering up big brands, a rich ecosystem of proud independent stores or options for the most curious bargain hunter, Limerick has all the shopper needs and more.

In this captivating blend too comes the bustling Milk Market, a unique experience that attracts 12,000 visitors each Saturday morning to an eclectic and captivating kaleidoscope of produce and goods ranging from hand-made crafts to award winning food produce.

The city centre area also boasts pedestrianised streets of Bedford Row and Cruises Street, while the area around Thomas Street, Catherine Street and Roches Street has been rightly dubbed ‘The Fashion Quarter’, with specialist boutiques and other stores also dotted in other locations around the county such as Adare and Newcastle West.

Limerick city’s accessibility, with an easy-navigate and compact grid of interlacing streets and plentiful, competitive parking makes it a pleasure for shoppers.

Add to this a €9.1m revitalisation of the main thoroughfare, O’Connell Street, the new International Rugby Museum and other ‘in-construction’ or planned projects - such as Opera Square, Cleeves Riverside Quarter and the Worldclass Waterfront programme - and the vision for a vibrant city retail destination becomes very apparent.
