The average list price of a home in Limerick city is €224,587, almost €60,000 less than the national average. The latest rental report from Daft.ie shows that the average monthly asking rent for the third quarter of 2021 in Limerick City was €1,373 – some €140 below the national average, with some areas of Dublin, for example, as much as €900 per month more expensive.
Limerick is the only Irish city, apart from Dublin, where disposable incomes are greater than the national average. This means that first time buyers in Limerick are in a relatively stronger position to borrow to buy a house or apartment than their equivalents in Dublin.
