The Limerick Operatic Memorabilia Exhibition has opened in Limerick Museum as part of the Limerick Opera Festival. The exhibition features objects from the permanent collection of Limerick Museum and items on loan from private collectors.

Reimagining the Mall in Ballingarry with funds from Town and Village Renewal Scheme

Works have been completed on the Mall in Ballingarry, Co. Limerick which will help breathe new life into the village.

Funding of just over €79,000 was granted to Ballingarry under the Town and Village Renewal scheme, an initiative under the Action Plan for Rural Development and the Government’s Project Ireland 2040 Programme for Rural Regeneration.

Limerick gets two dedicated cycle lane sweepers

Two new mini sweepers are to be deployed on Limerick’s cycling network in the coming days as part of the Council’s efforts to keep cycle lanes clear of rubbish and debris. The delivery of the new sweepers comes at a time when Limerick City and County Council’s Active Travel team is continuing to roll out new cycling infrastructure across Limerick.

Cruinniú na nÓg returns to live events in Limerick for 2022!

Cruinniú na nÓg returns to live events in Limerick next month, for the first time since 2019.

It takes place on Saturday 11th June and the Limerick Arts Office of Limerick City and County Council is very excited to see children, young people and families back at events across the city and county. They are encouraging young people to answer the call, to get out and enjoy the activities and have fun on Saturday 11th June!

National Food Waste Recycling Week gets underway

National Food Waste Recycling Week is a new national campaign from MyWaste.ie to encourage people to recycle their food waste running until 06 June.

A previous study by the Environmental Protection Agency found that approximately 50% of household organic waste was being disposed of in the wrong bins.

National Award for Limerick Students at Enterprise Finals

Students from Limerick have taken Special Merit Top 5 award in both the senior and intermediate categories at this year’s Student Enterprise Programme National Finals. The Finals of the Local Enterprise Office initiative were held physically for the first time in three years at the Helix in Dublin with An Tánaiste Leo Varadkar and host RTE’s Rick O’Shea, with students and teachers in attendance from all over the country.

Popular Limerick Greenway celebrates over 500,000 visits

Limerick Greenway has welcomed over 500,000 visits to the 40km scenic off-road walking and cycling route since it reopened in July last year, following a €10 million investment by Limerick City and County Council.
