17th May 2012: eva International, Ireland’s dynamic biennial of visual art, takes place in Limerick from 19th May to 12th August 2012.
eva International, Ireland’s dynamic biennial of visual art, takes place in Limerick from Saturday, 19th May 2012 until Sunday, 12th August 2012.
Entitled, After the Future, eva international will showcase work from 40 Irish and international artists, who were selected from over 2,000 proposals submitted from 76 countries.
This year’s eva international is curated by Annie Fletcher, Curator of Exhibitions at the Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven. Annie titled the exhibition After the Future in an effort to examine how certain artistic practices provide an active invocation of the present and speculate how we arrived here in the first place.
The artists chosen for eva International 2012 work in a host of mediums including film and video, sculpture, painting and installation, which will be shown in Limerick City Gallery of Art and various locations in the city centre (TBA). A series of collaborations with local, national and international partners will run alongside this core exhibition.
Entry to the exhibition is free of charge. Please see our eva International section for further details.
