A celebratory concert of choral & orchestral music to mark the 850th anniversary of the founding of St Mary’s Cathedral.
The programmes consists of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor & Haydn’s Paukenmesse (Mass in Time of War).
This concert features the recently formed Limerick based orchestra, Limerick Sinfonia & the combined choirs of St. Mary’s Cathedral Choir & An Cor (Musical Director Cecilia Madden).
The concert is conducted by John Davis & Peter Barley, & features distinguished piano soloist Stuart O’Sullivan.
This concert is presented in association with the Limerick Pipe Organ Festival & the Limerick Sinfonia.
Stuart O’Sullivan will play Beethoven’s third Piano Concerto in C Minor, accompanied by Limerick Sinfonia under the baton of John Davis. The orchestra will also play Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture and will be joined by St. Mary’s Cathedral Choir (Director Peter Barley) and AnCor (Director Cecilia Madden) in a performance of Haydn’s Mass in Time of War (Paukenmesse). The four soloists are Elizabeth Atherton (soprano), Sarah-Ellen Murphy (Alto), Wolodymyr Smishkewych (Tenor), and Rory Musgrave (Bass).
