Time: 10am - 5pm each day.

Led by Scottish screen dance artist Katrina McPherson, this three-day workshop will combine a practical exploration of screen dance and the viewing of historic and current works, with discussion around intentionality, genre and context, the aim being to encourage a deep and authentic engagement with the art form.

Katrina will guide the students through a series of individual and group filming, editing and analytical exercises, designed to encourage an understanding of the potential and possibilities of screen dance, and to support the development of the students’ individual and collective practices.

Katrina McPherson is an award-winning screen dance artist, whose creative, scholarly and educational work is at the forefront of the international field. She is the author of Making Video Dance - a step-by-step guide to making dance for the screen (Routledge, 2016).
