Sing Out with Strings is the Irish Chamber Orchestras’ flagship community engagement programme and has been running now for 12 years. The programme began in 2008 as a response to Limerick’s regeneration process.
A team of musicians provide weekly sessions for all children attending partnering schools. Activities include singing and song writing, violin, viola, cello and double bass, choir and orchestra as well as after school activities, holiday camps, public performances and concerts.
Sing Out with Strings addresses issues of inclusion, equality of access and highlights the numerous benefits that a long-term project of this nature can have on the children, staff, parents and the wider community.
