As part of the Riverfest Festival Weekend, Swimable Limerick are organising social swims in the River Shannon.
SwimableLimerick @Riverfest is an opportunity for people to dip their toe (and a whole lot more!) into Limerick's beautiful River Shannon. Our swims take place from the historic Curraghour Boat Club and we provide a fun, relaxed environment for anyone to enjoy the freedom of swimming in the open water.
The Swimming area will be confined to a 750 metre area and is an opportunity to see sights such as Thomond Bridge,The Treaty Stone and King Johns Castle from a truly, unique perspective. Swimmers can swim as short or far a distance in the designated area as they choose. Our swims are all about having fun and enjoying the open water, not about times or swimming long distances.
After our dip, swimmers are invited to sit by the fire in the Boat Club and enjoy food from two of Limericks tastiest eateries. Canteen and The Urban Food Co-op will be providing us with some delicious post swim treats from locally sourced producers. Particpants can enjoy the surroundings of the The Curraghgour Boat club, at the heart of a medieval, and now, modern, Limerick city.
First Social Swim: Saturday 5th May @ 10am
Second Social Swim: Monday 7th May @ 11.30am
Tickets must be booked online from 9th April on first come first served basis. Each swim will be limited to 45 people.
