National Heritage Week 2020

Saturday 15th - Sunday 23rd August
  • National Heritage Week 2019

Each year, during the last week of August, national and local community organisations participate in Heritage Week by organising events throughout the country. This year the theme for Heritage Week is Heritage and Education: Learning from our Heritage.

Due to Covid-19-related restrictions on social gatherings, rather than inviting communities to host Heritage Week events, the Heritage Council is inviting communities around the country to undertake projects that explore a topic associated with this year’s theme – Heritage and Education: Learning from our Heritage.

From Saturday 15th to Sunday 23rd August take a stroll through history and explore the close connections between education and heritage and what our heritage can teach us about our past, tell us about our present and provide fresh ideas for a sustainable future.

Events that take place during Heritage Week highlight the abundance of great work carried out in communities all over Limerick to preserve and promote our natural, built and cultural heritage.

Various locations throughout Limerick city and county.
