Knockfierna Heritage Society's annual celebration of the Festival of Lughnasa.
Celebrate the ancient festival of Lughnasa, a Gaelic festival marking the beginning of the harvest season, with historical guided tour, music, a talk about the famine times, followed by a gathering at the Rambling House, located at the start of the network of trails, for music and refreshments.
Knockfierna makes for a beautiful hike, passing the ruins of a famine cottage en route to the top of the hill, which offers panoramic views of the Golden Vale and Shannon Estuary from the top.
