The town of Athea will be a hive of activity on the 2019 June bank holiday weekend, hosting Fleadh Cheoil Luimnigh from Wednesday 29th May to Monday 3rd June.
Fleadh Cheoil, translated as 'Feast of Music' is the definitive set of competitions for Irish music.
Musicians compete in a series of qualifying rounds (county, provincial, regional, in the case of overseas competitors), culminating in a week long festival - Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann.
There will be musicians, singers, storytellers and dancers from all over the county of Limerick and across the border from Kerry, Cork, maybe even further afield, in Athea village over what hopes to be a fantastic Bank Holiday weekend.
