Let’s go Shopping! A history of retail in Limerick Exhibition will be on display in Limerick Museum from Thursday 7th December to Thursday 25th January.
For many in Limerick and its surrounding environs, this time of year, conjures memories of shopping trips to Limerick City. The excitement of travelling into the city centre and the ‘world of goods’ that awaited - bustling streets and laneways lined with shops – tantalising window displays to tempt – and the treat of going for a bite to eat in one of the city’s eateries. Limerick Museum’s Let’s go Shopping! exhibition is a trip down memory lane – a celebration of ‘getting the messages’, ‘only having a look’, ‘spending a few bob’ and ‘meeting at Todds’.
