Art Appreciation Programme

To broaden understanding, increase the enjoyment and deepen appreciation of visual arts

Limerick Art Society are delighted to invite you to their Art Appreciation Programme, on a first come basis. Voluntary contributions of €5 would be gratefully accepted. Presentations will be held in The Kilmurry Arts and Heritage Centre at 7pm on each night.

The Kilmurry Arts and Heritage Centre is located just behind The Hurlers pub on the Dublin Road, Castletroy, Limerick, V94W7R0

Thursday 20th February Clare Hartigan on Giotto to Pollock

Hartigans work is heavily influenced by the history of art and its developments through the ages. This talk will be a walk through the ages stopping at the different artist and paintings that have influenced the artist in her style and approach to painting.

Thursday, 20th March, Eoin McCormack on Art in Miniature, A Wargamers Perspective

In this talk Eoin will discuss the process of making, painting and playing with miniatures and how I have used that as a vehicle for creative expression.

Thursday 10th April Liz Cullinane on Mary Swanzy

The subject of this talk will be to characterize Mary Swanzy's work from the beginning of the First World War until shortly after the end of the Second World War.
