TLC’s Third Podcast Episode Highlights the Importance of Rural Community

  • Elaine Houlihan - TLC Podcast Guest ep 3 810x456

Team Limerick Clean-Up today announces the publication of its third podcast episode “Team Limerick Clean-Up Talks To…Elaine Houlihan” in association with Live95.

Athlacca native and physiotherapist Elaine has been a longstanding TLC veteran and has just recently been appointed the 39th President of Macra na Feirme.

Nigel Dugdale spoke to Elaine about her farming links, love of rural community and passion for the environment.

Rural communities pull together in times of need” she said. “No matter what it is, you know that you could get a carload of people to go anywhere with you or to help you with any task throughout the day. That’s just the joys of a rural community.”

Despite having lived in the Netherlands and being a lover of travelling, Elaine has declared herself a person who is rural through and through, which is something she is “extremely proud of.”

For her rural community of Athlacca, TLC is something everyone was intrigued by initially and has now become a staple of every Good Friday.

As is the aim of TLC, the Macra na Feirme president is passionate about reconnecting people and also showing pride in one’s community and giving back. In this episode Elaine encourages people in Limerick to get involved in TLC and make an effort to improve their local environment for the sake of themselves, others and animals.

You can listen to the latest “Team Limerick Clean-Up Talks To…” podcast episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and on the Live95 website.

Previous episodes with Cian Lynch and Louise Cantillon are also available to stream. Next week’s final episode will feature TLC co-founder and Limerick rugby legend Paul O’Connell.
