Spirit of the City is an outdoor summer bash extravaganza that will see the launch of Ireland’s newest festival and it’s all about showcasing some of the country’s best distillers. This year’s festival will evolve and explore some of the newer emerging draft beer, gins, whiskeys, vodkas and rums.

Thursday 27th June will host a comedy night in association with Limerick Suicide Watch. Taking to the stage is comedian Bernard Casey, the Kerry comedian has taken the internet by storm with his videos The Polish/Irish Barman, The Irish Listening Test and his hugely popular character, The Local Gossip and also our very own local Limerick man Danny Ryan. Danny is an award-winning comedian and is a huge hit in Ireland's top comedy clubs with his offbeat storytelling and sharp one-liners!

Friday, Saturday and Sunday the gates of the marquee will open from 3pm to 10pm, so if finishing up work in the city or the teaching term make sure to get your tickets to capture our live entertainment provided by local bands and DJs such as UV5/The Elation, Amazing Apples and The Midnight Sons. Irish Eurovision star, Mickey Joe Harte will take to the stage each night getting crowds on their feet. This mouth-watering, toe-tapping festival is sure to tantalise the taste buds of all.

Kevin Collins, Co-Founder of Spirit of the City said, “We hope to create a festival to celebrate the renewal of the economy in Limerick and the positivity felt by many local merchants who will get to proudly showcase their excellent beers, gins, whiskeys and food.”

Food vendors promise to whet all foodie appetites in an atmospheric and lively way with the wonderfully prepared food. We are expecting an influx of people to Arthur’s Quay Marquee all weekend, where guests can sample a host of local and international draft beers, gins, whiskeys, vodkas and rums. We have plenty of packages on offer and you can book your VIP table for 8 people which includes a bottle of gin and mixers on the night of your choice on our website, click here.

“Spirit of the City is all about bringing these elements together in a weekend of celebration and exploration in Ireland’s best-loved city. While it is particularly exciting for gin and whiskey lovers, the wide programme of activity makes it perfect for the culturally curious too,” Kevin said.
