The Limerick’s Live 95fm 95 Stop Tour week takes place officially from the 17 - 21 September with numerous fundraising events taking place right around the city and county.

One of these events is the fantastic Metis Ireland early morning river run (#MetisMorningRiverRun) which will take place on Friday 21st September.

Metis Ireland have been hosting this monthly #MetisMorningRiverRun for the past 12 months which follows the bank of the river from St. Michael’s Rowing Club, along the Condell Road to the Condell Road roundabout, and back in to St. Michael’s Rowing Club, totalling approximately a 5k route.

Karl Daly of Metis Ireland explains, “We came up with the idea last year and saw it as a way of interacting with our clients and the wider Limerick business community in an informal, unique and healthy way. We started off our first run with a group of 10 but this has now grown to over 40 participating in our monthly runs.

"We are extremely lucky in Limerick with the river on our doorstep and the route we take is particularly magnificent during early morning and definitely surprises everyone that participates. It is a very relaxed and comfortable 5k with a mix of people running and walking followed by a cup of tea, coffee and breakfast pastries in the rowing club. St. Michael’s also allows runners to shower after their jog so they can go straight to work".

“While people may have to be up that bit earlier, the timing ensures everyone is at their desk or back home as normal feeling energised and ready for the day ahead“ says Karl.

For the September run Metis Ireland are only delighted to use it as a fundraiser for Limerick’s Live 95fm 95 Stop Tour for kids and are asking their regular participants and anyone else interested to come along and make a contribution on the day or raise some sponsorship monies.

Metis Ireland have an ethos of supporting charities and have raised fantastic amounts for a number of charities over the past few years. These include Cliona’s Foundation who are one of the beneficiaries of the 95 Stop Tour for kids along with CARI and the Chldrens Ark including the Neonatal Unit.

“It really is great to be able to give something back or pay it forward“ says Karl “and small efforts can really make a big difference while also creating a really positive culture in the work place”

“We are delighted that Metis Ireland has offered this September #MetisMorningRiverRun as a fundraiser for our annual fundraising campaign and we are encouraging Limerick people to come out and support Limerick Charities on the banks of the river shannon", says Julie White, Marketing Manager of Limerick’s Live 95fm.

"5km completed and wonderful causes supported, all by 8am on a Friday, what better way to finish your week and kick start your weekend? Warm up will commence from 6.45am, with everyone heading out at 7am".
