Following the success of previous summer concerts, Limerick Summer Music 2019 returns with a unique concert evening featuring the musical talents of Limerick singer and songwriter Emma Langford and accompanying artists.

Old Crescent RFC is delighted to announce that RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Award winner Emma Langford will headline Limerick Summer Music 2019 at the Rossbrien Pavilion on Friday 12th July, in what will be her biggest hometown concert to date. Emma launched her first album Quiet Giant in 2017, and is now working with Grammy-nominated team The Production Suite in Dublin to produce a much anticipated sequel.

Limerick Summer Music is a new concept in musical entertainment for music lovers which debuted successfully two summers ago, and this year the concert will take place again in a large 700 seater marquee in the grounds of Old Crescent RFC in Rosbrien, at 8pm on Friday 12th July 2019.

Emma is also taking the opportunity on the 12th July to officially launch a new single from her forthcoming album: Goodbye Hawaii which might be familiar to anyone who’s been to a gig, but for those who have only admired the artist’s work from afar, Langford claims the track will “come as a surprise - it’s a departure from the earthy, orchestral vibe on Quiet Giant. It’s almost indie-pop, I’ve been calling it Hawaiian motown”.

Limerick Summer Music 2019 will also feature Tadhg Murphy, Hannah Nic Gearailt, Alec Brown, Peter Hanagan and Ray Yrure, who make up the sublime Quiet Giant band. Emma has also recruited the help of Cork man Kealan Kenny on lapsteel; internationally acclaimed violin duo Lucia MacPartlin & Maria Ryan; Limerick’s Clef Choir led by Galway native Darragh Wynne; plus The Soul and Body Dance Quartet who formed in 2018 at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance in UL.

Tickets: €20 each are available online from www.eventmaster.ie and from O’Sullivan’s Pharmacies, Leonards Menswear, and Savins Music in Limerick City.
