Limerick Printmakers are committed to promoting printmaking as an art form and supporting printmakers by providing a professional open access printmaking studio and education program.
Limerick Printmakers (LP) is a continuously evolving member-focused printmaking organisation that has become an integral part of the cultural landscape in the mid west of Ireland since its establishment in 1999. As both a printmaking studio and collaborative creative space, LP supports the goals of both individual artists and the wider community through the provision of a range of high quality printmaking facilities in a co-operative environment.
LP promotes its studio members work by delivering exhibitions with local & national institutions & venues, through its well established Printmaker of the Month series in The Hunt Museum, by devising collaborative print projects with inter/national partners, & by maximising opportunities for the public to view & purchase works on paper including portfolios of diverse work that showcase the talented members of the studio located both in the studio itself & in The Hunt Museum, all of which is available to purchase.
LP strives to facilitate the maximum amount of opportunities for various audiences to partake with printmaking and to support true engagement with the public in diverse ways and settings in order to increase awareness, understanding and enjoyment of this expansive and vital art form.
LP achieves this by delivering extensive education programs in art & printmaking for adults, young adults & children in the form of year-round courses & seasonal camps; & via its popular community engagement program that encompasses devising & delivering bespoke printmaking workshops & projects in partnership with community groups, schools & third level institutions, cultural festivals, arts venues & organisations, & local businesses.
