I am originally from Slovenia, now living in Limerick, and I represent Limerick City North Electoral Area in the Metropolitan District. I was co-opted onto Limerick City and County Council in 2020.
I have always had an interest in politics but I believed that voting on election day was the full extent of my role in politics. My thinking changed around the time of the Marriage Equality and Repeal referenda when I started to become more actively involved.
I was inspired by the members of my Party and I became fully involved in politics in 2020 when I was co-opted to Limerick City and County Council.
I stand for equality and fairness in all corners of our society and I strongly believe that only when we can make our society a welcoming and empowering environment for our most vulnerable, will it be just and functioning for everyone.
We need more diversity on our local councils and the Women's Caucus is one way of achieving a part of that goal. I am proud to be a member of this group, a group of strong, independent women who work hard for their communities.
