SENIOR EXECUTIVE ENGINEER - 5 Year Contract - Mid-West National Road Design Office

Limerick City and County Council is establishing a panel for the position of Senior Executive Engineer (5 Year Contract) - Mid West National Road Design Office.

The Position

The Senior Executive Engineer will be required to lead a team to provide technical and managerial support, and to liaise with external agencies, including Transport Infrastructure Ireland.   He/She will be responsible for developing and working to a budget, which ensures that each project is adequately staffed and equipped, so that the Planning/Design of the National Roads Programme is fulfilled per agreed briefs on a day-to-day basis.  He/She will be required to report to the Road Design Office Senior Engineer, assist the management team as may be required and deal with the elected members in respect of their role in the County and to attend the full council and Municipal District meetings.  He/she will be responsible for the efficient management of staff and the work programme of the Road Design Office which he/she is assigned. 

The Person - Qualifications

1.         Character:

            Each candidate shall be of good character.

2.         Health:

            Each candidate must be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

3.         Education, Training, Experience, Etc.

            Essential Criteria

Candidates shall:

(a)        hold an honours degree (level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications) in Engineering;

(b)    have at least seven years’ satisfactory experience of engineering works including satisfactory experience in civil engineering work, and

(c)        possess a high standard of technical training and experience.

 

Salary
The current salary scale applicable to the post is €64,548 - €80,079 including two Long Service Increments.

Hours of Work
The working hours at present provide for a five day, thirty-seven hour working week, hours may vary from time to time.
