Limerick City and County Council is inviting applications from members of the public and/or community groups for the 2023 Community Monuments Fund. This fund is to assist appropriate works to Archaeological Monuments that are included in the Record of Monuments & Places under the National Monuments Act 1930 (as amended) and/or identified in the Sites and Monuments Record compiled by the National Monuments Service.
There are 3 Streams of 100% funding available to private applicants and/or community groups:
Two eligible projects for each of the 3 Streams will be proposed by the Local Authority on foot of applications from private applicants and/or community groups who are owners or custodians of relevant archaeological monuments where there is a tangible public benefit.
Closing date for the applications to Limerick City and County Council is 4pm Monday 30th January 2023.
- Stream 1 will offer grants of up to €100,000 aimed at essential repairs and capital works for the conservation of archaeological monuments.
- Stream 2 will offer grants of up to €30,000 for development of Conservation Management Plans/ Reports/ Assessments that are aimed at identifying measures for conservation and maintenance of archaeological monuments.
- Stream 3 will offer grants of up to €30,000 for enhancement of access infrastructure and interpretation (including Covid-19 safety measures) at archaeological monuments
