Who is running TLC?
TLC is organised by Limerick City and County Council with the JP McManus Benevolent Fund. Live 95FM, the Limerick Leader and Mr Binman are the supporting partners.
Where is TLC happening?
TLC is happening all over County Limerick, wherever people are volunteering.
When is TLC taking place?
TLC6 is taking place on the morning of Good Friday, the 10th of April 2020. We invite participants to contribute as much of their time as they wish on the day but most of the teams will be out from 10am - 12pm.
Do I need to be in a group to participate in TLC?
Yes, for safety reasons individuals cannot register for TLC6. A minimum of two volunteers are required with each registration.
What types of groups/organisations will be participating?
Residents associations, youth groups, schools, sporting organisations, businesses, families, and anyone else who would like to contribute their time on the day.
Schools are closed on Good Friday; I am calling from a school, how can we get involved?
Yes schools are closed on Good Friday, but schools can help TLC by:
- Promote participation of staff and pupils within their own communities
- Take part on Good Friday - some schools did this in previous years and acted as a hub for the community
- Participate before schools close for Easter
Are my children welcome at TLC?
All children are welcome but children must be and are absolutely the sole responsibility of their parents/guardians on the day.
Does everyone receive a clean-up pack?
We hope many people will be reusing their litter pickers and any other supplies from last year, but if this is your 1st time taking part you will be notified when cleanup supplies are ready for collection closer to the TLC day. This will run along similar lines to last year but there may be some changes. Keep an eye on website & social media for updates.
Is there a list of items that are not accepted by Mr Binman on TLC day of collection?
- Household Waste
- Clean up from garages and sheds
- Hedges clippings/grass clippings/prunings
- Garden Waste
Who will remove the litter once it is collected?
Mr Binman will collect the rubbish FROM A PRE-DESIGNATED COLLECTION POINT once the litter pick is concluded.
How will distribution of packs work? What are closing dates?
This will run along similar lines to last year but there may be some changes. Keep an eye on website and social media for updates. TLC will be using SMS texting to communicate relevant information directly with those registered.
Registration has now closed but I didn't register already and I want to participate? What can I do?
To ensure you are properly organised for your TLC6 event please make every effort to register before the closing date. All schools should register by March 24th to ensure they receive clean up kits before schools close for Easter. The acceptance of late registrations will be reviewed closer to the closing date.
I have registered but I want to increase the numbers?
Every effort will be made to accommodate you IF WE CAN. The earlier you register and submit numbers the better. We cannot guarantee availability of supplies to latecomers.
