Limerick City and County Council aims to promote road safety awareness through educational campaigns such as the Cycling Skills Programme in Primary Schools, the operation of the Junior School Warden Schemes and the Lifesaver Project.
The Lifesaver Project
The Lifesaver Project initiative is led by An Garda Siochana and supported by the Limerick Ambulance Service, the HSE, Limerick City and County Fire Service and the Road Safety Department of Limerick City and County Council.
This programme continues to be part of the second & third level institutions calendar of events in both city & county. The event was attended by over 1600 second level & Youth Reach students during 2014. Students participating in the Lifesaver Project receive poignant, focused information and advice on the dangers and consequences of road traffic collisions.
