Bike Week

Bike Week is a national celebration of all that is great about bikes and cycling. Bike themed events, organised by local authorities, community groups and cycling groups, take place throughout Ireland for one week in June each year.

From free bicycle checks, fun cycles, lunchtime city rides, heritage cycles, school cycling events, bike festivals, road races and much more, there’s something for every age and ability. National Bike Week is an initiative of the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport.

As part of National Bike Week, Limerick Smarter Travel organise a week of events in workplaces, campuses, schools and communities, all centred around a shared love of cycling.

Grant applications are now invited from individuals and groups interested in running cycling related initiatives in Limerick during Bike Week. Grant funding of up to €500 is available to support people who want to run their own cycling inspired event.

How to Apply

Application forms are available to download in the supporting documents below. Please return completed application forms to no later than 1pm Friday 10th May 2019.
